I have known what it feels like to be broken into pieces, mentally, emotionally, spiritually. Like Coyolxauhqui, I have had moments where I didn’t recognize myself, where parts of me felt scattered and lost.

In Mexica mythology, Coyolxauhqui was an Aztec warrior goddess, daughter of Coatlicue. After leading a rebellion against her mother, she was defeated and dismembered, her body cast apart, her story becoming one with the moon.

But this piece is not about destruction. It is about the rise.

It is about honoring every version of myself that existed in survival, and choosing to gather those pieces with intention, with love, and with power. My culture lives within me, through every fracture, every healing moment, every rebirth.

Rise of Coyolxauhqui is a reminder that even in our most broken state, we are still whole. We are still worthy. And we can rise again.
